
The volume of non-performing loans at Kapital Bank OJSC, the largest private bank in Azerbaijan by assets, has increased significantly.
According to Yeniavaz.com, by the end of the first quarter of this year, the bank’s overdue loans reached 177.88 million manats. The share of overdue loans in the total loan portfolio stood at 3.25%.
Notably, 69.8% of these overdue loans - equivalent to 124.13 million manats - consisted of consumer loans issued to individuals for personal, family, and other purposes. The share of these loans in the total portfolio was 3.32%.
For comparison, during the same period last year, Kapital Bank’s overdue loans totaled 125.40 million manats.
According to the disclosed data, the volume of non-performing loans increased by 42% over the past year, or 52.48 million manats. Meanwhile, the share of such loans in the total loan portfolio rose from 2.35% to 3.25%.
