The number of Azerbaijani citizens missing as a result of Armenia’s military aggression has been updated, APA reports.
According to the website of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons, 4,005 people have been registered as missing as a result of Armenia’s military aggression against Azerbaijan.
Of them, 3,999 went missing during the First Karabakh War, while 6 went missing during the Patriotic War and the period that followed.
Of the 3,998 people who went missing during the First Karabakh War, 3,218 are servicemen, and 781 are civilians (71 children, 287 women, and 334 elderly persons). Among the missing, 3,711 are men and 288 are women. The identities of 220 missing martyrs from the First Karabakh War have been established, and their remains have been handed over to their families for burial.
