The body of an Azerbaijani citizen who went missing on a passenger ferry operating on the Kadıköy–Beşiktaş route in Istanbul has been found, APA’s Türkiye bureau reports.
The 44-year-old woman, Makhfura Huseynova, boarded the ferry in Kadıköy on the evening of May 2.
However, no footage was found confirming that she disembarked in Beşiktaş. Her bag was discovered on the ferry.
Relevant authorities conducted a search operation at sea to locate the woman.
As a result of the search, Makhfura Huseynova’s body was found near the Haydarpaşa coastline. The body has been sent for forensic examination.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
