Azerbaijan and Finland hold next round of political consultations in Baku

The next round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Finland was held in Baku on May 7, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.

The Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev, while the Finnish delegation was led by Director General of the Euro-Atlantic Department of Finland’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Sari Rautio, APA reports.

During the consultations, the sides discussed political relations between the two countries and emphasized the importance of mutual visits and meetings within the framework of international events in maintaining continuous dialogue.

The parties also discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation in the economic, humanitarian and educational spheres, including within international organizations, as well as strategic energy and transport projects implemented on the initiative and with the participation of Azerbaijan.

During the consultations, detailed information was provided on the current situation in the region, the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, and the large-scale restoration, reconstruction and demining activities being carried out in the territories liberated from occupation.

The sides also exchanged views on other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
