As Olaylar informs that Dunja Kovari, co-founder of Swiss urban planning and development company SA-Partners, said this during discussions held as part of WUF13 in Baku.
According to her, a significant part of these regions had been destroyed.
"However, from the very beginning of the restoration work, Azerbaijan tried to turn these challenges into opportunities, rethink cities and use them to create climate-resilient and people-centered communities," she said.
SA-Partners prepared the master plan for the development of one of the cities of Eastern Zangazur - Zangilan.
"The main idea of the Zangilan master plan was to integrate the built environment into nature without destroying trees. Therefore, most trees in Zangilan are now under protection. All planning in Zangilan is based on climate-friendly urban design," Kovari added.
