Azerbaijan's State Migration Service warns foreign passengers of Baku–Tbilisi–Baku train

Azerbaijanchr("39")s State Migration Service warns foreign passengers of Baku-Tbilisi-Baku train

Foreign citizens and stateless persons traveling on the Baku-Tbilisi-Baku railway route must comply with Azerbaijanchr("39")s migration legislation, Olaylar informs, citing the countrychr("39")s State Migration Service.

The service noted that foreigners staying in Azerbaijan for more than 15 days are required to register at their place of residence. The visa-free stay period in Azerbaijan cannot exceed 90 days, except in cases provided for by international agreements. For Russian citizens, a separate limit has been set - no more than 90 days within one calendar year.

Passengers suspected of violating migration rules are advised to contact regional migration service offices or migration service desks at ASAN Service centers before leaving the country. They can also check entry and exit restrictions through the Electronic Services section of the migration servicechr("39")s official website, both while in Azerbaijan and before arrival.

At the Boyuk Kasik station, where the Baku-Tbilisi-Baku train stops, the State Migration Service staff provide migration services in real time during the stopover.

Railway travel between Azerbaijan and Georgia on this route was officially resumed at 00:00 on May 25, 2026, for Azerbaijani citizens and foreigners eligible for visa-free entry.
