Azerbaijan, Serbia parliamentary speakers discuss bilateral cooperation

Speaker of Azerbaijanchr("39")s Milli Majlis (Parliament), Sahiba Gafarova, met with Ana Brnabić, Speaker of Serbiachr("39")s National Assembly, during her official visit to Serbia, Olaylar informs, citing Milli Majlis.

During the meeting, Ana Brnabić emphasized that Azerbaijan is a friend and ally of Serbia, noting that relations between the two countries are developing day by day. She highlighted the importance of existing economic ties, particularly in the energy sector, and expressed gratitude for Azerbaijanchr("39")s support in the field of energy security.

Brnabić also shared her views on the prospects of inter-parliamentary relations.

Sahiba Gafarova, in turn, praised the successful organization of the Global Conference of Women Parliamentarians of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, stressing that such events serve as important platforms for discussing current challenges.

The meeting underlined the significance of cooperation not only in economic and political spheres but also in the humanitarian field.

Gafarova noted the positive impact of parliamentary relations on bilateral ties, highlighting the role of friendship groups in strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation. She expressed satisfaction with collaboration within international parliamentary organizations, particularly mutual support regarding territorial integrity and sovereignty, and discussed opportunities for cooperation between parliamentary committees.

Other issues of mutual interest between the two parliaments were also exchanged during the meeting.
