Azerbaijan and Germany have held discussions on gas supply, energy transition, and low-carbon solutions, Olaylar informs, citing the Ministry of Energy.
The talks took place during Baku Energy Week between Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Ulf Heitmüller, Chairman of the Executive Board (CEO) of Germanychr("39")s VNG AG.
The meeting addressed the current global energy market situation, supply security amid the energy crisis, diversification of markets, and the expansion of international energy cooperation.
Focus was placed on Azerbaijanchr("39")s energy transition, the development of renewable energy sources, battery energy storage systems, and modernization of the energy system.
It was noted that Azerbaijan is already implementing 11 industrial-scale solar and wind projects, which will soon account for a significant share of the countrychr("39")s installed capacity.
Renewable projects are helping to save natural gas and expand export opportunities, while investments are being increased to strengthen the grid and enhance system resilience.
The role of hydrogen, biomethane, and other alternative energy sources in the future energy system was highlighted, along with the importance of electricity interconnector projects linking Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Europe.
Cooperation opportunities in these directions were also evaluated.
