Azerbaijan, Venezuela explore oil and gas cooperation

Azerbaijan and Venezuela have discussed cooperation opportunities in the oil and gas sector, Olaylar informs, referring to Azerbaijanchr("39")s Ministry of Energy.

The discussions took place during a meeting between Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Deputy Minister of Peoplechr("39")s Power for Hydrocarbons of Venezuela, Cindy Rondon.

It was noted that the role of meetings held within international forums and cooperation in the OPEC+ format was highlighted in the development of energy relations between the two countries. The importance of collaboration among energy-producing nations was emphasized, especially against the backdrop of rising global energy demand in the coming decades.

Venezuelachr("39")s rich oil and gas reserves, opportunities for developing new fields, expanding offshore projects, and cooperation with international energy companies were discussed. Azerbaijanchr("39")s experience in the hydrocarbons sector was also shared. Possible cooperation between the two countrieschr("39") state energy companies, training of specialists, university exchanges, and human resource development were among the topics considered.

Additionally, Minister Shahbazov met with Saeed Tavakkoli, Iranian Deputy Minister of Oil and CEO of National Iranian Gas Company. The meeting focused on Azerbaijan-Iran energy cooperation in oil, gas, and electricity, as well as the implementation of joint projects and the development of energy relations within the D-8 format.
