US President Donald Trump said at a trilateral meeting with the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Washington that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President Ilham Aliyev will sign an important document today, APA reports.
Donald Trump stressed that at first, it did not seem possible, but thanks to strong diplomatic efforts, great progress has been made. He said:
“The Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, which has been going on for 35 years, has caused great damage to both countries. They were looking for a solution, and although both the European Union and Russia made serious attempts, no results were achieved. Joe Biden could not achieve this either, and the efforts of other states were also fruitless. But we, as the United States, signed a series of major documents today.”
