“Armenia and Azerbaijan are opening a new chapter in their history,” said Germany’s Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, APA reports.
He stated that the initialing of the peace agreement by the two sides in Washington, at the initiative of U.S. President Donald Trump, is a source of hope for many Armenian and Azerbaijani citizens who have endured years of conflict, forced displacement, and suffering: “Today, it shows that both governments are ready to resolve complex issues through negotiations and to make difficult compromises. Germany is ready to support Armenia and Azerbaijan on the path to lasting peace.”
