Pope Leo XIV welcomed the agreement reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington, APA reports citing Vatican News.
The Pontiff hopes that this agreement will contribute to peace in the Caucasus.
"I congratulate Armenia and Azerbaijan on signing a joint peace agreement. I hope that this event will contribute to the establishment of a solid and lasting peace in the South Caucasus," the Pope said at the end of his traditional Sunday sermon in St. Peter's Square.
