Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine is prepared to find a “diplomatic way” to end Russia’s war, stressing again that Kyiv wants a trilateral meeting with Moscow and Washington, APA reports citing CNN.
Asked whether Ukraine is ready to “redraw the maps” in a peace deal, or “keep sending Ukrainian troops to their deaths for another couple of years,” Zelenskyy did not answer directly, but praised the Trump administration’s efforts to stop the war.
Zelenskyy said Ukraine has to live with daily Russian attacks, pointing to Russia’s deadly overnight strike on Kharkiv.
“We need to stop this war, to stop Russia. And we need support (from our) American and European partners,” he said.
“We supported the idea of the United States – of, personally, President Trump – to stop this war, to make a diplomatic way of finishing this war,” he added.
Zelenskyy said he was prepared for a trilateral summit between himself, Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump has expressed interest in holding a trilateral summit soon after Monday’s talks, while Putin has prevaricated.
