The storage levels of underground gas reservoirs in European Union countries has exceeded 75.5%, APA-Economics reports citing the European Gas Infrastructure Operators Association (Gas Infrastructure Europe, GIE).
According to the information, storage levels of underground gas reservoirs in EU countries is approximately 75.61% (it was 91% in the corresponding period last year – ed.), which is 7.68 percentage points lower than the average indicator of the last five years.
It is reported that currently the total volume of gas in the storage facilities of the EU countries is 83.1 billion cubic meters.
Note that according to the requirements of the European Commission, EU countries must ensure that their gas storage facilities are 90% full by November 1 each year to increase reserves for the winter period in case of supply disruption or anomalous cold weather conditions.
Recall that since December 31, 2020, the transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe via the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) has begun.
