Political scientist: Expectations are very high regarding President Ilham Aliyev's visit to Kazakhstan

It is observed that the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) has evolved from merely a cultural forum into a platform where strategic interests are coordinated, with Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan playing the roles of two main pillars, Kazakh political analyst, Deputy Head of the Political Expertise Department at the Eurasian Integration Institute, Adilkhan Gadelshev told APA.

According to him, this organization serves as a strategic dialogue space for member countries where they can advance initiatives in energy, transportation, digitalization, and humanitarian fields: “The OTS particularly provides significant advantages in terms of multilateral interactions. Brotherly countries coordinate their positions on this platform and form a common area of interests.”

Speaking about the opportunities to strengthen relations between the two countries, the expert emphasized that projects related to the production and export of energy carriers, as well as logistics routes, open broad prospects for joint cooperation: “One of the main priorities for President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is to qualitatively elevate cooperation in the transport and logistics sector. In this regard, the joint development of oil and gas projects and the transportation of energy resources can further strengthen cooperation. Reducing dependence on a limited number of transit routes through Azerbaijan will enhance overall political and economic security.”

Adilkhan Gadelshev noted that the leaders’ visits stimulate interstate relations and expressed high expectations regarding President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Kazakhstan: “We anticipate the signing of new agreements in the fields of energy, transportation, and digitalization, and the laying of foundations for new projects at the business forum to be held with President Ilham Aliyev’s participation.”

The political analyst stated that President Ilham Aliyev’s visit presents an opportunity to once again confirm fraternal relations with Kazakhstan and expressed confidence that this visit will mark the next phase of our diplomatic dynamics and strategic closeness, enriched with concrete initiatives.
