Georgian Foreign Ministry calls European Commission report biased

It should be noted with regret that the European Commission's report on Georgia gave a biased assessment of a number of events, APA's local bureau reports, citing the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).

The document noted that this was expected, especially after the European Union institutions turned a blind eye to attacks and violence against Georgian state institutions during the events that took place in Tbilisi on October 4, 2025, when local elections were held.

The statement expressed concern about the activities and statements of the EU institutions regarding Georgia.

"We condemn attempts to use the issue of EU membership as a political tool. This undermines relations between Georgia and the European Union," the document says.

The Foreign Ministry stated that the Georgian government remains committed to the agreements signed with the EU and is ready for constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation based on shared values and principles, rather than compulsion.
