The declaration of an “Easter ceasefire” with Ukraine has a humanitarian nature, said Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
He noted that Russia wants peace.
“We want peace. A lasting and sustainable peace. If Zelenskyy makes the appropriate decision, this peace can be established today,” the Kremlin spokesman emphasized.
Note that yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared a military ceasefire on the occasion of Easter, from 16:00 on April 11 until the end of April 12, 2026.
He instructed Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov and Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces – Commander of the Joint Group of Forces Valery Gerasimov to halt military operations in all directions during this period.
