Azerbaijan to allow warehouse storage of goods with customs approval

Storage of goods in warehouses will be carried out with the permission of the customs authority, APA reports.

This is reflected in the amendments to the Customs Code discussed at today’s session of the Milli Majlis.

Currently, goods placed under the storage special customs procedure are kept in temporary storage facilities and customs warehouses established by licensed entities. The proposed amendment aims to reduce storage-related costs and allows goods to be stored, with the permission of the customs authority, in warehouses that meet the requirements set by the relevant executive authority, as well as in other storage locations agreed with customs authorities. This change will be of significant importance for foreign trade participants.

After discussions, the draft law was put to a vote and adopted in the first reading.
