Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov held talks with his Belarusian counterpart Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin in Minsk, Olaylar informs, citing the Belarusian Defense Ministry.
According to the MoD, during the talks, the parties discussed the current state of bilateral military cooperation. They identified ways to intensify it in areas of mutual interest.
Hasanov noted that Azerbaijan highly appreciates military and military-technical cooperation with Belarus: "The exchange of delegations is not only an exchange of experience, but also a rapprochement of our countries."
The Belarusian defense minister, in turn, emphasized that cooperation with Azerbaijan is characterized by a high level of trust:
"Cooperation between Belarus and Azerbaijan is open and characterized by a high-level multilateral dialogue. The best confirmation of this is the friendly and trusting relations between the presidents of the two countries, Alexander Lukashenko and Ilham Aliyev. Once again, I would like to emphasize the high level of interaction in the defense sector. It bears underscoring that we are able and willing to deepen our interaction."
