Erdogan to visit Kyiv amid push to ratify Türkiye–Ukraine free trade deal

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is set to visit Ukraine at the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, according to Ukraine’s ambassador to Türkiye, Nariman Jalal.

The trip, currently in planning stages, is described as complex, requiring “significant efforts” due to unresolved bilateral issues. One of the central topics expected on the agenda is the ratification of the Türkiye–Ukraine Free Trade Agreement, a long-pending deal with strategic economic implications, News.Az reports, citing local media.

The diplomat also stated that the main topic of the visit could be the ratification of the free trade agreement between the two countries.
