On August 8, 2025, a telephone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, Hakan Fidan, APA reports.
The Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs sincerely congratulated our country on the historic achievements reached during the Washington meeting of the Azerbaijan-Armenia leaders.
The ministers emphasized the importance of the agreements reached, as well as the Joint Declaration signed by the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia, and witnessed by the President of the United States, for ensuring peace and stability in the region. It was noted that the initialing of the peace agreement, as well as the joint call for the abolition of the OSCE Minsk Process and related structures, is an important contribution to peace. The ministers expressed their expectation that the OSCE decision on the abolition of these structures will be adopted soon.
During the telephone conversation, issues arising from the Azerbaijan-Türkiye alliance relations, as well as cooperation within regional and international organizations, were also discussed.
