A series of events were held on the occasion of the 106th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Border Guard, the Press Center of the State Border Service told APA.
Azerbaijan Border Guard celebrates its 106th anniversary as an organization capable of professionally protecting the land and water borders of our Motherland, regardless of its climate and terrain, having passed a difficult and honorable path of development under the leadership of the founder of the State Border Service, National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and President, Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, with a strong border protection infrastructure, professional personnel, and a modern military arsenal. It was noted that on this occasion, a series of events were held in the structural units and military units of the State Border Service.
At the event that began with the playing of the State Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan at the Border Guard Cultural Center, the Chief of the State Border Service, Colonel General Elchin Guliyev, delivered a speech and congratulated the personnel on the occasion of the 106th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s Border Guard.
The presidential decrees of Ilham Aliyev dated August 16, 2025, were announced to the personnel, senior military ranks were presented to officers, and military servicemen distinguished in service and combat activities were awarded orders and medals.
After the official part of the event, the personnel watched the film “106 Years of the Border,” which reflects the service and combat activities of the State Border Guard of Azerbaijan.
