One of the CIA's most authoritative analysts on Russia has been suspended from her job by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard for her participation in preparing a report on Russia's alleged interference in the US elections, APA reports citing British weekly magazine The Economist.
According to The Economist, the suspended CIA employee, whose name has not been disclosed, oversaw Russia and Eurasia in 2016 and led the preparation of a report on alleged Russian interference in the elections. A few years later, she returned to the agency in a high-ranking position, analyzing Russia and the former Soviet republics. The publication noted that Gabbard also revoked access to classified data for senior CIA officials Shelby Pearson and Vinh Nguyen, who were involved in compiling the report.
