Azerbaijani FM met with EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and crisis in Georgia

On August 28, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received Magdalena Grono, the European Union’s Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Georgian crisis, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.

During the meeting, the current state and prospects of Azerbaijan-European Union (EU) cooperation, the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, as well as regional and international issues were discussed.

Cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU in economic, trade, transport, energy security, green energy, humanitarian, and other areas was reviewed. The parties expressed satisfaction with the high-level contacts between them and emphasized the importance of continuing the dialogue.

The EU Special Representative conveyed congratulations on the achievements in the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process within the framework of the Summit held during the visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the USA. The EU stated its readiness to support the peace process in various directions.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, in turn, informed the other side about the historic agreements reached during the Washington summit, as well as the progress and prospects achieved in the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization and peace process.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
