On September 8, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, received representatives of the US Certified Trade Mission on the Middle Corridor, who were visiting Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
The meeting highlighted the historic significance of discussions and documents signed on August 8 in Washington, attended by the Presidents of Azerbaijan and the US, and the Prime Minister of Armenia. The agreements were noted for their contribution to regional peace and development, as well as the significant prospects they open for Azerbaijan-US relations
In this regard, the importance of the project that will ensure unhindered movement between the western regions of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of our country was highlighted.
The efforts made by Azerbaijan to revitalize and make the Middle Corridor operational in recent decades were discussed, and it was noted that these efforts were implemented through specific projects such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, the Baku International Sea Trade Port, and the Alat Free Economic Zone.
It was noted with satisfaction that Azerbaijan also has strategic relations with the partner states in the eastern part of the Caspian Sea, friendly and brotherly countries of Central Asia, along the Middle Corridor.
During the meeting, it was noted that Azerbaijan has played an important role in Europe's energy security for many years, and that the number of countries supplied with the country's natural gas has now reached 14.
It was noted that Azerbaijan is currently carrying out large-scale activities with partner countries to develop and transfer huge renewable energy resources to Europe, and for this purpose, the importance of specific projects such as the construction of the Black Sea Energy submarine cable was highlighted.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
