Azerbaijan to restore another 85 houses in Shushakand village of Khojaly by end of year

A media tour has been organized to the village of Shushakand in the Khojaly district, APA’s Karabakh bureau reports.

Media representatives were provided with information about the village.

Afat Telmanqizi, Head of the Public Relations Department of the Reconstruction, Construction, and Management Service in Khankendi city, Aghdara, and Khojaly districts, stated that there are a total of 263 individual houses in Shushakand. Of these, 91 are uninhabitable, and 172 are partially usable. Among them, 15 houses are already ready for use. By the end of this year, an additional 85 houses will be restored. In 2026, the restoration of 72 more houses is planned.

It was noted that a number of projects have been implemented so far to develop the village’s social infrastructure, and work in this direction is ongoing. Specifically, existing power lines, three water reservoirs, and a sub-artesian well have been restored; a transformer has been installed; metering works have begun; a gas pipeline has been laid; and the existing drinking water network has been repaired. In addition, the design for communication lines has been approved, and preparatory work is underway in this area. A flag square has been built in the village, and internal roads have been asphalted.

Currently, 15 families (59 people) have returned to the village.

Note that President Ilham Aliyev visited the village of Shushakand in the Khojaly district on September 14.
