The Azerbaijani Embassy in Kenya reported that the Youth Leadership and Innovation Center has launched its activities in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, with the support of the Azerbaijan International Development Assistance Agency (AIDA), which operates under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, APA reports.

The center aims to support efforts to increase the skills and role of young people in society, develop their leadership abilities, and build successful careers.

The opening ceremony of the center, organized by the "International Youth Network" public association and the Kenya Institute of Special Training and Education, was held on November 1. The initiator of the project, the founding patron of the "International Youth Network" public association, the daughter of the President of Kenya, Charlene Ruto, AIDA Director Elmaddin Mehdiyev, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kenya Sultan Hajiyev, as well as public figures and young people attended the opening ceremony.

C. Ruto spoke about the development of Azerbaijan, where she has visited several times, its national and spiritual values, and its support for developing countries. She noted that the achievements of Azerbaijan serve as a source of inspiration for every nation and state. She expressed her gratitude for the support provided by the Azerbaijani Government to the establishment of the Youth Leadership and Innovation Center. She noted that such projects, as well as the scholarships provided to Kenyan youth within the framework of the Heydar Aliyev International Education Grant program, are an important contribution to strengthening the bonds of friendship and partnership between both peoples.

E. Mehdiyev noted that Azerbaijan's support for this project, as well as educational scholarships and other humanitarian and development assistance projects implemented in Kenya, are an integral part of the developing relations between Azerbaijan and Kenya.

Ambassador S. Hajiyev emphasized the political significance of the meeting between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and the President of the Republic of Kenya, Mr. William Samoei Ruto, held on September 23 of this year within the framework of the UN General Assembly. He noted that, in addition to the projects implemented through AIDA, technical assistance was provided to the Nairobi secondary school and the neonatal units of several hospitals in the country within the framework of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's "Development of Education and Culture in African Countries" project.

During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation held a number of bilateral meetings and discussed future cooperation opportunities in various areas, including in the humanitarian field.
