Kremlin hopes US-Iran talks will be productive

The Kremlin hopes that talks between Tehran and Washington on Iran’s nuclear issue will be productive and lead to a reduction in tensions, said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian president, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.

He said that Russia welcomes the new talks that have begun in Oman.

“We want these talks to be productive and to lead to a reduction of tensions in the region. Of course, until that happens, we would like all interested countries to exercise restraint,” the Kremlin spokesperson added.

Note that the United States and Iran are holding talks today in Oman on Tehran’s nuclear program. The U.S. delegation is led by the U.S. President’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, while the Iranian delegation is led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
