Mohammad Baqer Zolqadr was appointed as the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, the Iranian president's deputy of communications posted on X on Tuesday, replacing Ali Larijani who was killed in a strike last week, an aide to Iranian President Mehdi Tabatabaei announced, Reuters reports.
It was reported that the appointment was made "with the approval of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, and by decree of President Masoud Pezeshkian."
