Israeli authorities rejected an Iranian claim Wednesday that missiles struck Israel’s largest power plant, CNN reports.
Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency posted a video, geolocated by CNN, showing a large plume of smoke rising into the sky close to the plant, which it said had been hit in a wave of strikes.
The Hadera municipality, halfway between Tel Aviv and Haifa, in which the plant is located, acknowledged a hit had happened in the area but said the impact took place outside the town’s limits.
The Israel Defense Forces told CNN that Iranian projectiles fell in an open area and did not hit the plant. A spokesperson for the Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) also said there had been no damage to the plant’s infrastructure from the Iranian missile fire.
