Russia completes second phase of humanitarian aid delivery to Iran, thanks Azerbaijan

The second phase of Russia’s humanitarian aid delivery for the population of Iran has been completed, Dmitry Melnik, Director of the International Activities Department of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, told journalists in Astara, APA reports.

“The humanitarian aid consists of 300 tons of various medical supplies. As you know, humanitarian aid had been sent earlier as well. That aid was delivered via Lankaran airport. In total, the delivery of the cargo took nearly four days and was made possible thanks to the efforts of various institutions of Russia and Azerbaijan. In this regard, I would like to thank Russian agencies and my colleagues from Azerbaijan,” he said.

An employee of the Russian embassy, Roman Popov, also expressed gratitude to the Republic of Azerbaijan and its authorities for their assistance in delivering the second batch of humanitarian aid to Iran.

He particularly highlighted the interaction between Russian and Azerbaijani institutions.
