The Global Terrorism Index (GTI) ranking indices are based on calculations of terrorist incidents, deaths, serious consequences, hostages, counterterrorism, terrorism investigation effectiveness, and numerous other indicators.
The “Global Terrorism Index” reports, periodically published by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), serve as a reference source for the United Nations, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the World Bank, other international organizations, and international academic institutions. The reports are also considered one of the key sources taken into account by countries when attracting foreign investment within a broad economic infrastructure.
As evidenced by the reports of international organizations, despite being located in a highly sensitive and complex geopolitical region where terrorist and subversive threats based on religious, political, national, and other grounds remain high, Azerbaijan has in recent years achieved a very high level of internal security worldwide thanks to the development and peace established as a result of successful domestic and foreign state policies, including the effective work carried out by security agencies in the fight against terrorism.
As emphasized by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, issues of security and stability must remain the number one priority on the agenda of any country, now more than ever. Without them, all other efforts are meaningless.
