In January of this year, Azerbaijan imported 1,437 tons of chocolate and chocolate products worth a total of $5.808 million from 28 countries, APA-Economics reports, citing the State Statistical Committee.
During the period, the largest volume of chocolate products was imported from Russia and Türkiye. In January, Azerbaijan imported 676.67 tons of chocolate products worth $2.274 million from Russia, marking a decrease of 20.6% in value and 38.6% in volume compared to the same period last year. Imports from Türkiye declined by 40.1% in value and 47% in volume year-on-year.
In the reporting month, Azerbaijan imported 6.36 tons of chocolate and chocolate products worth $121,470 from Belgium, which is nearly 27.5 times higher in value and 13.5 times higher in volume compared to January last year.
