The obligation of employers to ensure equal pay is being specified in order to guarantee gender equality, APA reports.
This is reflected in the proposed amendment to the Labor Code discussed at today’s meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Labor and Social Policy.
Under the draft, employers are required to pay equal wages to employees performing the same or different work of equal value, regardless of gender. The determination of work of equal value must be made by the employer, taking into account working conditions, the nature of the labor function, and the tariff-qualification characteristics предусмотренные in the unified tariff-qualification reference books currently in force.
