In January–February 2026, the average monthly nominal salary of employees in Azerbaijan increased by 5.3% compared to the same period last year, reaching 1,099.1 manats, APA-Economics reports, citing the State Statistical Committee.
Additionally, as of March 1 this year, the number of salaried employees in the country amounted to 1.784 million people, of whom 870.6 thousand were employed in the public sector and 913.4 thousand in the private sector.
Of salaried employees, 18.5% worked in trade and repair of vehicles, 18.3% in education, 13.8% in industry, 8.6% in healthcare and social services, 6.5% in construction, 6.1% in public administration and defense; social security, 4.4% in transport and storage, 4% in professional, scientific and technical activities, 2.4% in financial and insurance activities, 2.3% in agriculture, forestry and fishing, and 15.1% in other sectors of the economy.
