Baku Initiative Group organized over 35 international events in past three years — Executive Director

Since 2023, the Baku Initiative Group has successfully organized more than 35 international events dedicated to various topics, including the consequences of colonial and neo-colonial policies, legal issues, protection of human rights, and the defense of the rights of indigenous peoples, said Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group, Abbas Abbasov, at the international Youth Forum titled “Strengthening the Role of Youth in the Post-Colonial Era,” APA reports.

“Also, as you know, since 2024, we have started to continue our activities as a think tank, and since 2024 we have published three books and prepared and released more than 40 reports. At the same time, we have prepared and submitted influential reports to international organizations and relevant international institutions. We have established successful cooperation with more than 9 overseas territories, unfortunately still suffering from colonialism, as well as with more than 15 countries affected by neo-colonial policies,” Abbas Abbasov noted.

He added that cooperation has been established with the United Nations and its bodies, including the UN Human Rights Council, the UN Human Rights Committee, the Permanent Forum on People of African Descent, and the UN Youth Office, as well as with the Non-Aligned Movement.
