No tanker or commercial vessel has passed through the Strait of Hormuz in recent hours, the Public Relations Department of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement, Tasnim reports.
The statement described as unfounded and false the claims by US officials that two US commercial vessels had passed through the Strait of Hormuz.
“Actions that contradict the principles declared by the IRGC Navy will face serious consequences, and vessels violating the rules will be detained,” the IRGC warned.
It should be noted that earlier, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that US commercial vessels had passed through the Strait of Hormuz within the framework of the “Project Freedom” operation.
