US airborne forces are ready to launch ground operations at any time, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine said at a press conference today, APA reports.
According to him, these military units have the capability, if ordered, to deploy into the combat zone from US Air Force aircraft and seize strategic areas.
“These paratroopers remain constantly ready to deploy into the ground combat zone from Air Force aircraft if ordered and to seize key areas. They can carry this out as their predecessors did during World War II operations in Sicily and Normandy,” the general emphasized.
