Azerbaijan to create 100,000-hectare national park in liberated territories

A new national park is being established in the liberated cities of Khankendi and Shusha, as well as in the territories of Aghdara and Khojaly districts, Vugar Karimov, head of the Working Group on Environmental Issues of the Interdepartmental Center and Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, said during today’s meeting of the Working Group held in Khankendi, APA’s Karabakh bureau reports.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Restoration, Construction, and Management Service in Khankendi, Aghdara, and Khojaly districts, the national park will cover an area of 100,000 hectares, and a map of the park has already been prepared. The map has been submitted to the State Committee on Property Issues. The park is planned to be established by the end of this year.

Note that representatives of relevant state institutions, the special representatives of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Jabrayil, Gubadli, Zangilan, Lachin, Kalbajar, Shusha, Aghdam, Fuzuli, Khojavend, Aghdara, Khojaly districts, and Khankendi city, as well as representatives of the Restoration, Construction, and Management Services, participated in the latest meeting of the Working Group on Environmental Issues under the Interdepartmental Center, which operates under the Coordination Headquarters established to centrally manage issues in the liberated territories.
