First court hearing to be held in criminal case on hotel fire in which 78 people died in Bolu, Türkiye

Today, the first court hearing will be held regarding the hotel fire in the city of Bolu, in which 78 people lost their lives, APA reports citing NTV.

The hearing will take place in the sports hall of the Bolu Social Sciences High School.

A total of 32 defendants, including 19 currently in custody, will appear before the judge.

At present, the relatives of those who lost their lives in the incident are being allowed into the courtroom.

Note that on January 21, a massive fire broke out at the Grand Kartal Hotel located in the Kartalkaya Winter Resort, resulting in the deaths of 78 people and injuries of varying severity to 133 others. Following the incident, a criminal investigation was launched by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. As part of the investigation, an indictment was prepared, and criminal charges were filed against several individuals, including the hotel owners, company executives, and officials from the Bolu Municipality.
