On July 7, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, visited Baku’s Victory Park along with his accompanying delegation, Azernews reports.

An honor guard was lined up at the park in recognition of the distinguished guest.

Speaker Sadiq laid a wreath at the Victory Monument, paying tribute to the memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the Patriotic War.

The delegation was then briefed on the significance of Victory Park, which was established to commemorate the extraordinary heroism of the Azerbaijani people during the 44-day Patriotic War and to honor the memory of the fallen heroes.

It was noted that at the entrance of the nearly 10-hectare park stands the Victory Arch - symbolizing the 44-day war -measuring 44 meters in height and 22 meters in width, with 44 columns.

Victory Park was officially inaugurated on November 8, 2024, in a ceremony attended by President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.
