It is noted that the spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces, Brigadier General Ephraim Defrin, confirmed the start of the attack.
According to him, the army's main priority is the evacuation of civilians from Gaza, as well as the provision of humanitarian and medical assistance to them.
The general stressed that this week more than 15 Hamas fighters attempted to attack the Khan Yunis outpost.
Three soldiers were injured as a result of the attack, one of them is in serious condition.
