Armenian PM does not rule out land exchange with Azerbaijan

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that a land exchange with Azerbaijan can only take place with the consent of the people, Armenian leader said at a briefing for journalists today, APA reports.

He noted that both Armenia and Azerbaijan have maps showing the borders of the former Soviet republics. The Prime Minister added that the process of defining borders will continue based on these maps.

"If suddenly there is a desire to exchange some territories proportionally, that is, 1 sq. km of territory for another 1 sq. km of territory, we should appeal to our people on this issue to find out whether citizens agree with such a decision," Pashinyan said.
