Russian and Iranian Presidents discussed South Caucasus

Russian President Vladimir Putin had a phone conversation with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, APA reports, citing the Kremlin.

Vladimir Putin informed the Iranian President about the main results of the Russian-American meeting held in Alaska.

Masoud Pezeshkian expressed his support for diplomatic efforts aimed at a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis.

A number of pressing issues on the bilateral agenda were discussed, including energy and transport.

The situation regarding Iran's nuclear program and the development of events in the South Caucasus region were also touched upon.

Vladimir Putin and Masoud Pezeshkian exchanged views on further enhancing Russian-Iranian cooperation in various fields and the SCO summit to be held in China.
