On August 27, 2025, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Mammadov and Director of the International Legal Cooperation Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office Sabuhi Aliyev participated at the meeting of Deputy Prosecutors General of the CIS member states organized in Moscow, the capital of the Russian Federation, the Press Service of the Prosecutor General’s Office told APA.
Within the framework of the event, which was held with the participation of high-ranking representatives of the CIS and a number of state bodies, the current state and prospects of mutual cooperation in the field of law enforcement, the organization of joint fight against transnational crime, as well as the further expansion of regional and international cooperation were discussed.
At the meeting, Heydar Mammadov delivering a speech highlighted the importance of the reforms carried out within the framework of the Coordination Council, the existing cooperation experience in the field of mutual legal assistance and extradition between prosecutor's offices, as well as Azerbaijan's active participation in international and regional organizations.
The Deputy Prosecutor General also noted that, with the organization of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a number of prestigious international events have been held in our country — the 29th annual meeting of the International Association of Prosecutors, the high-level plenary session titled “Mobilizing Law Enforcement for Enhanced Climate Action” within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, and the plenary meeting of the UNODC GlobE Network.
Within the framework of the visit, Heydar Mammadov also held meetings with delegations of the Prosecutor General’s Offices of the CIS member states.
