US President Donald Trump is unhappy with the developments in Ukraine, but is not surprised by them either, White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt said, APA reports.
"He was unhappy with the news, but he was not surprised," she said at a regular briefing for journalists, noting that "Ukraine recently attacked Russian oil refineries."
Leavitt added that Trump "continues to monitor the situation closely." "But both sides of this war may not be ready to end it on their own. The president wants it to end, but the leaders of these two countries have to want it and be committed to it," the spokeswoman said. She also noted that the American leader "will make some additional statements on this later."
