State Department approves possible sale of over 3,000 ERAM missiles to Ukraine

The State Department has approved the potential sale to Ukraine of more than 3,000 ERAM (Extended Range Attack Munition) air-launched missiles and related logistics for $825 million, said Pentagon's Security Cooperation Agency, which is responsible for the supply of military equipment and weapons abroad under intergovernmental contracts, APA reports.

As specified in the statement, the Ukrainian authorities had previously requested up to 3,350 such missiles from the United States, as well as navigation systems and jamming equipment to equip them. In addition, Washington is ready to sell Kyiv various equipment related to these missiles. Ukraine can use funds provided by Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway, as well as money previously allocated by the United States, to pay for the weapons.
