In accordance with the decision of the Azerbaijani government, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) will close its representation in the country on September 3, 2025, ICRC said in response to APA's inquiry.
It was noted that, in line with its mandate and Azerbaijan’s obligations under the Geneva Conventions, the ICRC will continue its cooperation with the Azerbaijani authorities to provide support to persons protected under international humanitarian law.
“We intend to continue our dialogue on humanitarian diplomacy and other humanitarian issues of common interest,” the statement said.
