Zelenskyy: Putin tells tales in China while Russia builds up forces on front

Russian leader Vladimir Putin is saying in China that he is not responsible for the war against Ukraine, APA reports citing RBC Ukraine.

At the same time, Russian troops are amassing forces in certain areas of the front, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Zelenskyy said that today he reviewed several reports from the military, including from the commander of the Air Forces, regarding drone interceptions.

"The audacity of the Russians is growing - they are increasingly attacking Ukraine in the daytime with dozens of strike drones. Overnight, there were 150 drones, in the morning over 50 more, and in the evening dozens more, most of them Shaheds," the President said.

He emphasized that the groups of Russian drones in Ukrainian skies effectively serve as accompaniment to Russia’s statements from China.

According to Zelenskyy, this shows Russia’s blatant disregard for everything the world is doing to end the war.

The President also noted that yesterday, the Russian side literally denied what Trump had said about the leaders’ meeting needed to end the war.

"These days in China, Putin continues to tell his stories, pretending he is not responsible for the war. As if someone is always forcing him to fight, kill, make children hide in shelters, or send thousands of people to assault our positions. And now we see new accumulations of Russian forces in certain areas of the front," Zelenskyy added.

However, according to him, Putin does not want to be forced into peace.

"Russia continues to strike. Of course, we will respond. In particular, we will respond asymmetrically so that Russia fully feels the consequences of its audacity," the President emphasized.
