Ukrainian suspect extradited from Poland to Kazakhstan in international organ trafficking probe

A Ukrainian woman suspected of participating in a transnational organ trafficking ring has been extradited from Poland to Kazakhstan, the Kazakh Prosecutor General's Office announced on Wednesday.

The suspect is alleged to have been a key member of an organized crime group that facilitated 56 illegal human organ transactions between 2017 and 2018.

According to investigators, the group recruited victims across multiple countries—including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Thailand—to undergo illegal kidney transplants at medical facilities within Kazakhstan. The extradition marks a significant step in a multi-year cross-border investigation into one of the region's largest organ trafficking networks.
